How we check the subsidy figures

For anyone who uses the Subsidy Checker. Last official page read: 24 October 2026.

The short version. Every number the Subsidy Checker shows was read by a person from the official government page, on a day we record. A machine re-reads those pages every Monday and tells us if anything changed. If a figure has not been checked for 120 days, the site refuses to publish until someone checks it.

Why we go to this trouble

In July 2026 this site published a subsidy figure that was wrong. It had been written from memory. Nobody was harmed, but a family could have planned around it. Subsidy rules in Singapore change a few times a year, and most places that repeat them, including us at the time, had no way of knowing when one had moved.

So we changed how the site works. Figures are no longer typed onto pages. They live in one place, each one next to the sentence on the official page it came from and the date a person read it.

What happens, step by step

  1. A person reads the official page. For each scheme, someone on the HomeWise team opens the AIC, HDB, MOH, MOM or CPF Board page and copies the exact sentence that states each rule, with the date.
  2. The site checks itself before it publishes. If a figure on the site is not inside one of those copied sentences, the site will not build. If a page has gone more than 90 days unread, we get a warning; after 120 days the site will not build until someone re-reads it.
  3. A machine re-reads every page each Monday. It compares the page with the previous week and emails us if the wording changed or a sentence we rely on has disappeared. A person then reads the page again and updates the figure the same day.
  4. The checker shows you the date. Under every result is "Rules checked" and a date, and a link to the official page. If the date looks old to you, the official page is one tap away.

What the checker will never say

It will never say "you qualify". Only the agency can decide that, after seeing documents we never ask for. The checker says one of four things: likely, possible, need more detail, or unlikely, and it tells you why in each case. Treat it as a guide to which doors are worth knocking on, and take the official page with you.

It will never guess. If it does not know something that matters, such as a year of birth or whether someone is enrolled in CareShield Life, it says so and asks, rather than filling the gap.

What we do with your answers

Nothing. The checker runs in your browser. Your answers are not saved, sent or tracked, and we never ask for a name, NRIC number, income figure or address. See the privacy notice.

If you find a mistake

Write to care@homewise.sg with the scheme and what you saw on the official page. We re-read the page, fix the figure, and the date on the result changes. Every change is listed in the change log. Care providers and developers who want to use these checks in their own systems can read the developer page.

HomeWise is run by Askinco Pte Ltd and is not affiliated with AIC, HDB, MOH, MOM or CPF Board.
