Caregiver Support in Singapore: Who to Call, Day or Night

Updated October 2026 · 5 min read

Singapore has a dozen helplines for caregivers, spread across as many organisations, and most of them close at 5pm or 6pm on weekdays. This page puts them in one place with their real opening hours, so you know who will actually pick up at the time you need them.

If someone is in danger now, call 995.

For emotional crisis support at any hour: Samaritans of Singapore 1767 or National Mindline 1771 (text 6669 1771). Both are open 24 hours.

The short version

There is no caregiver-specific helpline open 24 hours. SOS 1767 and Mindline 1771 are.

The AIC hotline, 1800-650-6060, is open later than most: weekdays to 8.30pm.

On weekdays, TOUCH, SAGE and Montfort Care take caregiver calls.

After hours, if you are not in crisis and just need to talk, the free Evening Companion is there.

Where Can I Talk to Someone at Night?

In a crisis, SOS 1767 or Mindline 1771, at any hour. If it is not a crisis, the evening is still the hardest time to find anyone.

Your loved one is asleep, the house is quiet, and every caregiver line has been closed for hours. That gap is why we built the HomeWise Evening Companion: a free AI companion you can talk through the day with, by text or out loud, in English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil. There are four companions to choose from, and our guide explains how the Evening Companion works.

Be clear about what it is. It is AI, not a person, and not a counsellor. HomeWise does not save the conversation. If you mention that someone is in danger, it will give you 995 and the crisis lines above.

If the load has been heavy for a while, our guide to caregiver burnouthas AIC's four-question stress check and the ways to arrange a real break.
