Caregivers Training Grant (CTG): how much it gives and who can use it

Rules checked 15 October 2026 against Agency for Integrated Care

The Caregivers Training Grant from the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) pays for approved caregiver training courses. It can be used by a family member or by a domestic helper who is the main caregiver.

The short answer

  • $400 in the first year the grant is used.
  • A $200 top-up every 1 April, with the balance capped at $400.
  • A co-payment of at least $10 for each course.
  • The person cared for must be a Singapore Citizen or PR aged 65 or above, or have a disability.

How much is the Caregivers Training Grant?

It starts at $400 in the first year. After that, $200 is added every 1 April, and the balance can never go above $400.

So if the full $400 was used in the first year, $200 is available the next year. If none was used, the balance stays at $400.

Each course also has a co-payment of at least $10, depending on the balance left.

Who qualifies for the Caregivers Training Grant?

The caregiver and the person cared for must each meet the conditions below.

  • The caregiver, a family member or a domestic helper, is the main person caring for the care recipient.
  • The care recipient is a Singapore Citizen or PR.
  • The care recipient is aged 65 or above, or has a disability, meaning they permanently need some help with at least 1 of the six activities of daily living.

Can my domestic helper use the Caregivers Training Grant?

Yes. AIC accepts a domestic helper as the caregiver, as long as she is the main person caring for your parent.

In many Singapore homes the helper does most of the daily care, so training her is often where the grant does the most good.
