EASE (Private): senior-friendly fittings for condos and landed homes

Rules checked 19 October 2026 against Building and Construction Authority

EASE (Private) is the private-housing version of HDB's EASE. Run by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), it gives eligible households $1,200 in vouchers that offset 75% of the cost of senior-friendly fittings from appointed contractors.

The short answer

  • $1,200 in vouchers, covering 75% of each fitting's fixed price.
  • For private homes with a Singapore Citizen household member aged 65 or above, or 60 to 64 who needs help with at least one daily activity.
  • Households are invited by letter and SMS, sent in batches.
  • Results come by email within 14 working days of applying.

What does EASE (Private) cover and what will I pay?

The Government fixes the price of each fitting. The vouchers pay 75%, so you pay 25% until the $1,200 is used up.

Bidet spray$65.40$16.35

Prices are from the EASE (Private) Fittings Catalogue. Because the Government sets them, they do not change with shop discounts.

Who qualifies for EASE (Private)?

A household in a private property with at least one Singapore Citizen member who meets the age rule.

  • Aged 65 or above, or
  • Aged 60 to 64 and needing help with at least one activity of daily living. This group sends a copy of the Functional Assessment Report (FAR).

How do I apply for EASE (Private)?

Wait for the invitation letter and SMS, then apply on ease-private.gov.sg.

Invitations go out progressively in batches, so neighbours may receive theirs at different times. Results are emailed within 14 working days. Fittings are installed by appointed contractors.

Is EASE (Private) the same as HDB EASE?

No. HDB EASE is for HDB flats and is run by HDB. EASE (Private) is for condos and landed homes and is run by BCA.

Under HDB EASE, the Government pays up to 95% of the cost: households in HDB rental blocks pay nothing; owner-occupiers pay 5% for 1-, 2- and 3-room flats, 7.5% for 4-room, 10% for 5-room and 12.5% for Executive. Under EASE (Private), the vouchers cover 75%. Both need a Singapore Citizen household.

Can I use EASE (Private) and SMF together?

Yes. They cover different things: EASE (Private) pays for fittings installed in the home, and SMF pays for devices you buy, such as a walker or wheelchair.

SMF is run by AIC and is open to Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 60 and above who pass its means test.
